With a prolific career marked by numerous scientific publications and textbook contributions, Dr. Fallat's expertise in foot and ankle pathologies is unparalleled. A graduate of Oakland Community College, Eastern Michigan University, and The Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Fallat completed his surgical residency in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at Highlands Center Hospital in Denver, Colorado, in 1978. He further honed his skills through a prestigious fellowship in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Ravensberg, Germany, in 1989 As a distinguished member of esteemed organizations such as the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association, Dr. Fallat has played a pivotal role in shaping the podiatric field. Currently serving as the Director of the Podiatric Surgical Residency at the Corewell Health and Section Leader of the Podiatry Department of Surgery at Oakwood Hospital in Michigan, Dr. Fallat has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in training future generations of podiatric surgeons.
Specializing in foot and ankle trauma, reconstructive surgeries, and innovative treatments such as custom 3D implants for diabetic neuropathy, Dr. Fallat performs 5 to 10 surgeries weekly, employing cutting-edge techniques to ensure optimal patient outcomes. His pioneering work with titanium 3D implants for ankles underscores his status as an innovative leader in the field.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Fallat is deeply committed to humanitarian causes, lending his expertise to organizations such as S.M.A.R.T., Healing the Children, and Project Health Help. His philanthropic endeavors have taken him on mission trips to Honduras, Guatemala, Nigeria, and the Dominican Republic, where he evaluates and treats children with congenital foot deformities, transforming lives and restoring hope.
